Starting the blog up again. This Time I mean it.

A year or so ago when I posted that I was starting with Blog back up I really intended to actually write more but during the pandemic it seemed like a silly thing to do, to just write about games for fun so I never really did it. Now, though, it seems like it's still a really silly thing to do but also a lot of the projects that I'm working on and building towards could benefit from some context. Context that I've had a chance to sit down and think through and put down on paper in this particular way.

So now I'm actually starting off the blog again and it's going to be a lot more personal and a lot less reserved than it was before. I was being quite diplomatic about things a lot of the time previously because I wanted to get a job in a specific industry and now I kind of don't.

We'll see how it all goes but now I'm mostly focused on Community Management for Extra Life LA and Social Media management there as well. I don't need to be as diplomatic about the games I'm playing as I used to. I suppose the same goes for the video game industry in general because I can kind of play whatever I want and say whatever I want about it now.

When I was trying to be a critic I needed to make people feel like I was being fair and reasonable about things. Now that I'm more of a hobbyist and I'm involved in this situation as a less professional opinion holder I'm free to be that much less nice and less fair. I can kind of say whatever I want about things which is nice.

All the Work I Did In 2019 and 2020 So Far

Back in July last year I started working as a news writer at TheNerdStash.com and TheGamer.com. Since then I’ve had just over ninety stories published. I’ve been doing this in addition to my other two jobs I had last year first at Amazon and now that I’ve left there at Bloomingdale’s Outlet. It’s been a challenge, especially in terms of time management but now, seven months in, I’m starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. Last week I even had time to see friends in person, that was pretty rad.

I’m probably most proud of my work covering TwitchCon. I got to Shout out Extra Life and the Gayest Panel at Twitch Con in addition to just panels in general which tend to not always get the viewership they deserve, at least the good ones don’t.

Also, here’s the other 85 stories.
